Bam! Reboot!

April 11th, 2011

I’ve completely nuked and rebooted my blog. Why? A clean slate feels good.

The main goal however, is to consolidate my presence online. As you may notice, the theme I’ve made here is remixed for the two other sites linked in the header above. It’s all meant to tie together my main interest these days: game development on 4thWall.

I still need this bit of personal space for the occasional rant and whatnot, so my blog isn’t going away. The standard in-line comments are gone though, replaced with a “discussion” link to a corresponding repost of each blog article on Gameslate’s forums. I’d like to instigate a more conversational approach rather than just feedback from blog visitors. It does require registration on my Vanilla-powered forums at Gameslate, but with the social network logins I’m trying to make that as painless as possible.

Over at Gameslate, I’ll try to get some discussions going on independent game development. I realize most of you probably have plenty of forums to read already, but I hope Gameslate will provide a bit of uniqueness by having a small handful of resident game developers.

Speaking of 4thWall– Things are going well with the game design and we’re about to start our second content test fairly soon. Actually there is a little shift in the design: We’ll be initially working on a smaller single-player game that will eventually iterate into the larger multiplayer co-op game. There’s a little bit about that on the 4thWall site itself. That site is fairly sparse right now, but it’ll become the main info and promotional site for the game once we have content we’re confident enough to show off. Meanwhile, discussion of the game will be held on the Gameslate forums.

That’s about it for now. =)
