Patching 101, WAR's first serious patch
Mythic has announced their first big bug patch for WAR: Update 1.01 It's a doozy, at least in comparison to the minor fixes they've applied so far. The new patch should be going live sometime today.
I've been impressed so far with how small (as in filesize) their fixes have been so far, they've been barely noticeable to download but certainly appreciated in-game. We'll see how this biggun' goes.
Some highlights:
- Autoloot added.
- TAB targeting improved (thank God).
- "Target is Out of Range" bug fixed (This was driving me insane!).
- Various chat fixes like ignore actually working and your friends list not saying it's full with just three people on it (/facepalm over these in the first place).
- "The Gunbad instance lockouts will now be 30 minutes instead of 24 hours." (Good, I thought Mythic was against long raid-style lockout timer bullshit)
- "Player pets have learned to behave themselves." Plus other pet fixes (Yay!).
- The /petname command is now reserved for White Lions only. (Bastards! Let me name my Squigs!)
- The mail delay has been reduced to 5 seconds (Bankalt thanks Mythic).
If the pet changes are effective, I'll be a happy Squig Herder.

The only thing the patch is missing is the reinstatement of Player Notes on the Guild UI. But hell, if the pet fixes work, I don't care if anything else does. It'd be nice if I didn't have to give up on my WL after all.

Got some time in last night, and it seems that my pet is mostly cooperating.
I still lose him off and on when wandering around, which is annoying as always, but the responsiveness is much better, and he seems to behave less erratically as well.
It was enough to get me to stick it out. Because I know, if they can fix these issues in just a week or two, that there's only going to be more improvements.
JoBildo the WL is back... now about that damned blindfold.

One thing that's still bugging me is I can't recall my pet by clicking Follow if he's on Defensive. I have to click him on Passive first.
The way I'd expect it to work is that clicking Follow should automatically toggle to Passive, because sometimes you need that quick recall (in Danger, Will Robinson! type situations, heh).

Well I'm speaking too soon to say the pets work great. Works great in the Scenarios I played it yesterday and today, but attacking mobs in PvE and my Squig still acts really wonky, especially with pathing.
